Many major systems will be unavailable while a routine upgrade is made to our Novell NetWare file servers.
All services that require the Royal username and password will be inaccessible for most/all of the outage period.
Blackboard, Internet access and the SIS will remain available.
Student Novell server (ST) is down. It crashed this morning. Unsure of when it will be back.
The ST Novell file server wasn’t responding. Nothing was found to specificially indicate “why” so it was rebooted.
The ST and FS (student and faculty/staff) file servers need to be rebooted for the installation of some new functionality. This should be a short outage and the servers should be back by 7:45 AM
The FS file server needs to be rebooted because of high processor utilization.
Several patches and security updates will be applied to our Novell NetWare file servers. This will affect services that use the Royal username and password, including e-mail, network file access and printing.
The SIS, Internet access and Blackboard are unaffected.
CIFS was not working properly after the Facutly/Staff file server crashed earlier today. When attempting to restart CIFS, FS crashed.
The FS file server is not responding.
The file server web server was unresponsive, affecting several services. It was rebooted.
