Printing not available for fac-staff
Printing for many faculty-staff printers was not working.
A configuration file change corrected it.
November scheduled maintenance
UPDATE at 2 p.m: Maintenance has been successful, though systems will not be available until about 3 p.m.

A support pack will be applied to EMU’s fileservers, affecting file and print services. This is a routine maintenance procedure to ensure server stability and security.
Working with files on the network during this period is STRONGLY discouraged.
E-mail, calendar and other services that depend on the Royal Password will be unavailable during periods of this outage.
Other services, such as Internet access, Campusweb and Blackboard will remain available.
Server FS rebooted
FS was rebooted in preparation for maintenance tomorrow morning.
Scheduled outage for Student fileserver (ST)
Data on the student fileserver ST will be moved to our new Storage Area Network to significantly increase storage space.
Scheduled outage for backup software update
A routine update to our backup software necessitates rebooting most servers, affecting Blackboard, file & print services, e-mail, calendar and the web server.
Internet access and the Student Information System will be unaffected.
Novell server ZW crashed
Novell server ZW had no network connectivity. Processor at 0, no response, tried to execute “ping” from console and window froze – could still page to other screens. Power cycled system
ALL servers outage September maintenance
UPDATE at 2:00: The bulk of the work has been completed, however, the following services are currently unavaible:
– Terminal Server (TServe)
– TMA
– Choice Ticketing

This outage will affect ALL network services. Internet access should remain available for most of the time, however. Some services will be available during this period, though you are encouraged to not count on them.
A number of housekeeping tasks will be copleted, including:
– updates for disaster-recovery
– reorganization of cabling in the Data Center
– hardware upgrades for the file servers
– transition to a new web server
This item and the Critical Information Alert will be updated hourly if the work is not completed within the expected timeframe.
Unexpected problem with FSAPPS
Around 2:00pm the FSAPPS server became unstable. A reboot brought it back into operation.
FS and FSAPPS restarted
Backup system errors require a restart of FS and FSAPPS.
