CTPilot Server: A system image will be made for catastrophe restoration purposes. This is a one-time process done periodically to insure a rapid return to service in the event of a catastrophic failure.

FS Server Crashed
FS crash similar to the crash on 10/03. CPU goes thru the roof and everything locks up. Gradual rise in CPU utilization begins about an hour before crash. Need to be prepared with sniffer next time this occurs

Upgrade Novell file servers to eDirectory. This will provide expanded LDAP capabilities that are needed to support the Steltor/Corporate Time Calendar implementation.
15 Hr Planned Maintenance for Novell Servers
Service Pack maintenance update to all Novell file servers. 15 hours reserved for the outage in case difficulties develop. It is hoped that the Novell servers could be back in service by 5:00pm.

Planned Reboot of Student Novell (ST) Server. A component within the Novell system is not functioning properly. Reboot of server required to fix it.
5 min Faculty/Staff (FS) Novell Server Failure
Faculty Novell server (FS) became unstable about 2:30pm, Wed (4/17). Network admin was able to down gracefully and reboot immediately. The characteristics of this failure are different from those of other recent failures. IS is aware of the problem and will be working on several initiatives in the next several months to address these problems.

Faculty Novell Server (FS) became unstable on Fri night (4/5) sometime around 8:00pm. Network admin rebooted it about 10am Saturday, 4/6. Characteristics similar to the incident on Monday, 3/18. Reasons still unknown.

FS Novell Server became unstable for unknown reasons. Graceful shutdown not successful. This behavior was different from that of Fri morning, 3/15. Efforts continue to determine the exact cause of these problems.
2 hr Faculty/Staff (FS) Novell Server Failure
FS Novell Server at 100% with very little being done. Flooded with bursting packets. Rebooted at 8:15am. Graceful shutdown successful. Services restored by 8:30am.
