Our Internet service provider performed a scheduled change to our Internet connection, which was supposed to take about five minutes. An unanticipated problem extended the outage. The problem was resolved with the ISP’s help.
The Internet was not available briefly so equipment could be reconfigured.
We are experiencing an unexpected internet outage. Technicians are working to resolve the issue.
There have been short Internet outages (approx 2 min). A configuration change was made and the problem has not recurred.
Due to hardware failure our internet connection is unstable. Technicians are in the process of replacing the hardware and hope to restore connectivity by noon.
A network device stopped responding. It was reset. This device will be replaced in the near future.
Sporadic internet connectivity problems were experienced this morning, particularly for users of VPNs, which includes remote locations such as Lancaster.
Off-campus websites are currently unavailable. Technicians are working with our ISP to resolve the issue.
Beginning about 5:45pm the EMU Internet connection had intermittent outages lasting 15-25 minutes each. We are not sure what is causing these outages. Our Internet service provider (ISP) has been contacted and they are monitoring the circuit and will give us an assessment later this evening.

At 9:45pm tonight we received report from our ISP that no problems with our Internet circuit have been observed in the logged events. The circuit will continue to be monitored. (posted 11/23/05 22:30)

There have been repeated outages of about 20-30 minutes about every 2-3 hours on Thanksgiving Day (11/24). We do not know the cause of the outages. We have limited resources available to troubleshoot the problem. We have initiated an automated monitoring service to assist with our diagnosis. (posted 11/24/05 19:30)

External monitor log indicates that 20 minute outages continue to occur but NOT consistently every 2 hours. Further diagnostics on Friday morning (11/25) indicate that the problem is probably within the EMU network infrastructure. Info Systems is working to diagnose the problem and fix it. Info Systems techs worked on-site from 12:30-3:00pm (11/25) and concluded the problem was internal to EMU. Rebooted one of the primary Internet connection components. System appears to be working since then. This outage log will be left open until Monday, 11/28. (posted 11/26/05 9:30pm)
