A scheduled backup process inadvertently brought down MyEMU. All services should be available now.
Rescheduled Third Saturday Maintenance
Tuesday (22 May 2012) from 6:30 – 8:30am is a scheduled information systems maintenance outage.
We have altered the usual third-Saturday outage schedule to accommodate May Summer Orientation, Advising and Registration (SOAR).
We expect outages for only the following systems between 6:30 and 8:30am on the 22nd:
* Jenzabar EX (Student Information Server)
* myEMU (my.emu.edu)
Voicemail hard drive replacement
The redundant hard drive in our voicemail system failed, and we will need to shutdown the voicemail system to replace it.
The outage took longer than expected due to some file corruption, but was otherwise successful.
Notifylink Upgrade
The Notifylink upgrade scheduled for 5/10 was not completed and will be repeated.
Notifylink will be unavailable for about 30 minutes. All emails and calendar events will synchronize once the service is back online.

Webmail performance issues
Greater than normal usage of Webmail caused performance issues. We expect a configuration change has alleviated the problem.
Webserver unresponsive
The web server was briefly unresponsive this morning. Functionality is now restored.
Planned Notifylink Outage
The Notifylink service will be down for about 30 minutes to fix an issue that has developed with log files.
During the downtime users will not see changes to their calendar synchronized. Changes will sync once the service is back online.
Printing and copying (Equitrac), Astra calendar, other systems offline
Services affected include not only copiers but also Astra Schedule, inter-library loan system, and the Physical Plant iServiceDesk.
Mail server and wireless system outage
Update 9:45am: Mail and wireless are now working. Mail received during the outage may take several hours to deliver.
The mail server and wireless system failed after an extended power outage around midnight.
Incoming email is being queued on our gateway servers: it will be delivered after the mail server is restored. Outbound email cannot be sent at this time.
We do not yet know how long the email server and wireless will be unavailable. We will update this notice as we learn more.
