A problem with a database server affected the availability of several web based services, including www.emu.edu and Moodle.

FS server outage
The FS server has developed some problems that require a restart to resolve. This will be done Friday evening after business hours.
Portfolio photo catalog update
The Portfolio photo catalog application will be offline for approximately 30 minutes for an update. Access to the photos via Windows Explorer and the Mac Finder will not be interrupted.
Moodle scheduled outage
The Moodle server will automatically go offline at 3:00 AM for a maintenance task. It should return to service after 10 to 20 minutes.
Updates to blog, survey and form software on website (plus short EX & myEMU outage)
Updating to:
WordPress 3.0.4
Limesurvey 1.90+
Machform 2.3
Other portions/functions of the EMU website will continue to function during this time, except as noted below.
NOTE: There will also be a short outage of EX and myEMU, from 9:00-9:15, to install updates to their respective servers.
Moodle inaccessible
The Moodle server was inaccessible beginning early this morning–our first report of trouble came at 7:45 a.m. We resolved the problem around 12:45 p.m. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Jenzabar EX (SIS) & myEMU Upgrade
The SIS will be upgraded to EX 3.8.2, with attendant impact on myEMU.

FS Novell Server Reboot
The FS fileserver will be rebooted. G and Z drives will be inaccessible for about 15 minutes.
Library card catalog outage
The server that hosts the Library card catalog (sirsi) will be taken offline for a hardware update. The total time offline is expected to be 30 to 45 minutes.
Library catalog (Sadie) unresponsive
The Library catalog server was rebooted to correct this problem.
