OCS/TMA server outage this evening (Mon, 8/22/05)
The OCS server needs to be taken offline for routine maintenance and installation of an operating system upgrade. This will affect copiers, Physical Plant’s iServiceDesk application, and certain software which requires access to a key server. We anticipate the outage to last 2 to 3 hours provided no unexpected difficulties are encountered.
FS fileserver hardware change
The faculty staff server is being returned to its original hardware now that the diagnostics from an earlier outage are complete.
Terminal Server Scheduled Maintenance
The Terminal Server is in need of a routine maintenance procedure.
FS diagnostic work
The faculty staff server is being moved to another system temporarily for hardware diagnostics to be done on the existing machine.
Partial network outage
Equipment failure in Lehman Auditorium has made the campus network inaccessible from Lehman, Sociology, Bible and IEP. A spare is being configured for temporary replacement. Estimated downtime: 2 hours.

Additional Blackboard outage
Due to the numerous problems encountered during the two planned Blackboard outages last week, a third outage is necessary to complete the upgrade process. We appreciate your patience as we work through these unforseen circumstances.
Internet outage
There will be an upgrade to some hardware that connects EMU to the Internet. This outage will NOT affect on-campus access to file and print servers. It WILL affect the ability to receive and send email (no, nothing will be lost) and to access the Internet.
No one from off campus will be able to access any of EMU’s systems. (examples: Lancaster, NYC, and off-campus Blackboard users).

The calendar server is unresponsive and is being rebooted.
