We are planning to have an outage on January 2nd, 2010, from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. that same day, to upgrade EX to 3.0.5 and myEMU to JICS 7.1. SIS and myEMU may be ready before 9:00 p.m., but check this page to determine the status before attempting to sign on to either system.
EX users: You can not be in the software until you hear that it is ready to use. Else data loss may ensue.
myEMU users: You will experience an outage as well.
Inquiry into past years’ financial aid will be down for about half an hour, to replace a failing cache battery in the server.
SIS and myEMU will be down for about one hour, to move the “temporary DB” used by complicated queries to its own disk partition. This should prevent the infrequent “runaway query” from stopping others that are not using tempdb.

Users are unable to establish new connections to the EX server. Technicians will restart the server.

Status 6/17 11:15am: Client upgrade push to workstations kicked off by 9:30. Within 2 hours your machine should be upgraded or you can force it via a reboot. You can follow the instructions at the Help Zone-EX version to ensure you are at version 2.9.5.15
The Student Information System (SIS) will be down from 5:00 to 6:00 pm this evening, to apply Windows updates to the EX database server, and to do a full G/L recalc to fix a problem Business Office has encountered.
NOTE: This includes myEMU.
EX databases structure will be updated to 2.9.2; the EX 2.9.2 application update will be applied to the training room PCs and tested; the EX update will then be distributed to all EX users.
