There needs to be a piece of network equipment swapped out. This is expected to take 5 min. It will disrupt network connectivity from the following buildings: Lehman, Sociology, Bible, and the IEP house.
A squirrel shorted a circuit on campus causing one of the electrical phases to be lost. This brought power down on one battery backup system in the Info Systems Data Center which affected several servers including CampusWeb (AS400), email/webmail, Oracle calendar, Terminal Server and a Novell server. Power was restored about 9:05am and the off-line servers were be brought back on-line by 9:45am.
Our long distance provider is making changes to our circuit to fix a reocurring problem.

Outage was caused by an EMU network device that stopped responding. Service was restored after the device was restarted.
