Recently a new database server for SIS was put in production, and experience has shown that some performance enhancements are needed. This will require the system to be unavailable for around 10 minutes. myEMU will be affected during this time as well.

Webserver outage
The webserver experienced severe performance problems, culminating in a service outage. All problems have now been resolved.
FSAPPS server rebooted
The server wasn’t responding properly and needed to be rebooted. This also allowed DSREPAIR to work correctly – was it the same issue – not sure.

Scheduled web server upgrade
We will be upgrading the web server’s operating system and migrating it to new server infrastructure. The upgrade will enhance performance, reliability and maintainability.
Student Information System (Jenzabar) database upgrade
On Saturday May 15 the server that hosts the Jenzabar EX databases will be upgraded. This is a significant upgrade that affects all SIS functionality, including the EX application, myEMU, and all other dependencies. These will not be available during the upgrade.
Saturday maintenance outage: email, copiers, Astra schedule
Several systems will be taken offline on Saturday May 15 for routine maintenance. Email will be the main service affected, however copiers will also be unavailable.
In addition, the TMA application used by Physical Plant will be affected, as will several Library systems, including Ariel, Illiad, Odyssey, and the ability to access research databases from off campus.
Residence Hall Door Access Controls (CBord) Are Down
About 9:30am SPI folks in Residence Halls began reporting that cards no longer gave them access. Phys Plant began investigating which led to collaborating with Info Systems. The root problem was identified about 10:30am. Phys Plant and Info Systems personnel are working to resolve the problem.
12:00 noon UPDATE: A workaround has been found. Doors should soon be operational again.
01:00 PM UPDATE: Phys Plant personnel report that the system should be working again. An email of explanation will be sent to non-students by Phys Plant.
RGU failure: certain analog telephones not ringing
Certain analog phones on campus are not able to ring due to a ring unit failure, and a failure of the redundant ring unit.
We have implemented a work around to solve the problem, but are operating without redundancy in other units.
FS server needs to be rebooted
FS has high CPU and needs to be rebooted.
