There will be an interruption of email lasting a couple of minutes as an upgrade is made to email server software. This upgrade keeps our software current and should enhance the performance of Webmail.
Due to unexpected problems with aging hardware, the ST server drives will be transferred to different server hardware. Students will not be able to access P: drives or log in to Novell while this procedure is taking place.
A major network switch needs to be replaced.
The webserver was unresponsive. All systems are now functional.
About 2:30pm Info Systems began receiving reports that the EMU web server was not available. Early indications were that the trouble was with the network. As Info Systems dug deeper into the problem it became apparent that several servers were inaccessible.
As of 4:00pm Info Systems isolated the problem to be a network hardware component but the full extent of the problem is still being determined. As individual server connections are identified as not working they are being re-located to different connections on the network that are functioning.
4:30 Update: All affected servers have been moved to functioning network ports.
The calendar server was unresponsive, and was restarted.
The SIS will be unavailable during the monthly full backup. This includes EMU400 and Campus Web.
The student file server is not responding and needs to be rebooted.
Software vendor Jenzabar will be upgrading part of the Campus Web component of the SIS. This will require that the SIS be shut down as well as Campus Web.
