We are currently experiencing network connectivity issues. Technicians are looking into the issue. This appears to be mostly just wireless.

Information Systems will be working with consultants next Tue, 20 Dec, to upgrade our wireless (Wi-Fi or Airport) network infrastructure.
Wireless network connections will likely be unavailable between 8am and 5pm. The outage will impact our Lancaster and Washington locations as well as the Harrisonburg campus.

About 9:00pm the Parkwoods manager called to report there is no wired or wireless network in all of Parkwoods.
Status of outage will continue to be carried on this outage report.
09/18 7:00am: First level trouble shooting occurred between 7am and 8am Sunday morning. Parkwoods components appear to be functioning properly. Second level support will need to come on campus to troubleshoot up-stream components. This technician will arrive between noon and 3:00pm.
09/19 13:45: Root problem found and corrected. Service restored about 1:45pm, Sunday, 09/18.
Several switches need to be rebooted to upgrade the IOS to resolve an issue with the Ciscoworks software.
2 switches received an ios upgrade to troubleshoot several ciscoworks issues. These devices and those downstream (from the 3750, would have experienced an intermittant (about 5 min) outage.
A problem with one DHCP server, which provides IP addresses to many computers around campus caused network access problems for a number of computers.
This issue was resolved, though computers may need to be restarted to regain network access.
A switch failed in the Northlawn basement. This affects NL, Art buildings and parts of University Commons.
Between 10:00 and 10:05 PM, a network service will be modified which may result in a loss of network connectivity for a few devices attached to the network, including computers, hand-helds, game consoles, etc. This will NOT affect the majority of devices. If you happen to be one of the unlucky few, please wait until after 10:05 PM and restart your device.
Fiber optic cabling work is being done to improve reliability of the network on this part of campus, requiring a one hour outage between 8 a.m. and noon.
The cables that provide phone and network service to all Parkwood Apartments needs to be rerouted prior to exterior construction at Maplewood.
ALL PHONE AND NETWORK SERVICE IS EXPECTED TO BE UNAVAILABLE FROM 8 A.M. TO 5 P.M.
