A machine which hosts multiple services required a restart.
There appears to be a problem with the firewall at the lancaster campus. The unit was replaced and is now functional.
A critical piece of network equipment stopped functioning, leaving most network resources unavailable.
The device has been reset, and is now functioning normally.
Lancaster users were unable to initiate or maintain terminal server connections. A hardware problem was identified by a TCW engineer later in the afternoon. A replacement unit has been received, and will be installed on Friday.
Some computers around campus are experiencing network connectivity problems. Technicians are currently working on the problem.
The following services will be unavaible for a period of about one hour during the span of this outage:
– Blackboard
– Calendar (Oracle)
– Terminal Services (TServe)
– EMU web server
Disk images will be taken of these servers for disaster recovery purposes.
Hardware failure is causing a network outage for many of the students on NL 2nd floor.
UPS went bad – replaced.

There needs to be a piece of network equipment swapped out. This is expected to take 5 min. It will disrupt network connectivity from the following buildings: Lehman, Sociology, Bible, and the IEP house.
