UPDATE: The network is back on-line as of 5:50 PM.
On Sunday, May 11, 12:30 PM to approximately 7:30 PM, IT will be upgrading the software on a core network device. This will result in an extensive outage of networked technology on campus. Services impacted are:
Phones
Wired Network
Wireless Network
Internet
Printing
Classroom Technology
If you are off-campus some services will remain available, including all Google services, Moodle, Salesforce, and www.emu.edu. However, Jenzabar systems including J1 and MyEMU will not be available on or off campus.

On Tuesday, May 13, 2025, we will be upgrading Moodle to version 4.5. Moodle will be unavailable during the upgrade.
The upgraded Moodle will see user interface improvements, course editor upgrades, and easier access to external tools like Panopto and Voicethread. Release notes can be found here.

Update: The issues with the direct email function for authorized users in the Broadcast email system has been resolved as of 11AM on 4/16.
The direct email function is currently not working, and IT is working on fixing this issue. Users can still use emu.edu/broadcast, but this will not support sending from a shared mailbox. Please contact helpdesk@emu.edu if you have any questions. We apologize for the inconvenience.
UPDATE: Internet speed is back to normal as of 8:17 AM.
Internet access is slower than usual. IT is investigating.
Update: This problem was resolved for most modules at 12:30PM. EMU is continuing to have problems with: Transaction Groups on the transfer of payment information from one system to another system.
Inserting new records into Jenzabar is failing on several screens. Jenzabar has been contacted. There is no estimate for recovery time.
UPDATE: The problem cleared up.
The 3rd party that provides services that web browsing depends on is running slower than usual this morning.
The IT department is monitoring the situation.
Users should logout out of J1 desktop at the end of their workday on January 7, 2025. This will allow Jenzabar to Patch our servers for changes. Maintenance is to be performed between 7 PM on January 7th and 4 AM on January 8th.
If users forget to log out before the maintenance begins, their J1 Sessions will be kicked out. Any unsaved transactions will be lost.
UPDATE: The problem is resolved.
IT is working with the service provider to resolve the problem.
UPDATE: EMU-iot Wi-Fi returned to normal at 7:20 PM
IT is aware of the issue and has begun investigating. No ETA for resolution yet.
