A squirrel shorted a circuit on campus causing one of the electrical phases to be lost. This brought power down on one battery backup system in the Info Systems Data Center which affected several servers including CampusWeb (AS400), email/webmail, Oracle calendar, Terminal Server and a Novell server. Power was restored about 9:05am and the off-line servers were be brought back on-line by 9:45am.
Inbound 800# Outage
Our long distance provider is making changes to our circuit to fix a reocurring problem.
mail server rebooted
Server was low on memory. Restarted server – all seems fine now.
FS server crashed
FS crashed again due to the cache memory problem. Had to power off server to reboot it.
Tserve reboot
Lancaster users’ sessions were disconnected, and they were not able to reconnect.
E-mail server outage for hardware upgrade (failed)
The e-mail server will be unavailable for the first of two outages to upgrade the hardware that this service runs on.
** The procedure scheduled for this time failed and will need to be rescheduled. **
Internet connection is down
Outage was caused by an EMU network device that stopped responding. Service was restored after the device was restarted.
Webmail/RADIUS server outage
A server that hosts the webmail service, as well as RADIUS (required for wireless access) experienced an error and required a reboot.
FS server is unavailable
The FS server is unavailable. Technicians are rebooting the server. It should be available in 15 minutes
Email server planned outage
For routine maintenance and as part of a larger future upgrade, the email servers will be unavailable early Saturday morning. No mail should be lost during this procedure.
