Beginning about 5:45pm the EMU Internet connection had intermittent outages lasting 15-25 minutes each. We are not sure what is causing these outages. Our Internet service provider (ISP) has been contacted and they are monitoring the circuit and will give us an assessment later this evening.

There have been repeated outages of about 20-30 minutes about every 2-3 hours on Thanksgiving Day (11/24). We do not know the cause of the outages. We have limited resources available to troubleshoot the problem. We have initiated an automated monitoring service to assist with our diagnosis. (posted 11/24/05 19:30)

External monitor log indicates that 20 minute outages continue to occur but NOT consistently every 2 hours. Further diagnostics on Friday morning (11/25) indicate that the problem is probably within the EMU network infrastructure. Info Systems is working to diagnose the problem and fix it. Info Systems techs worked on-site from 12:30-3:00pm (11/25) and concluded the problem was internal to EMU. Rebooted one of the primary Internet connection components. System appears to be working since then. This outage log will be left open until Monday, 11/28. (posted 11/26/05 9:30pm)
