On Tuesday, May 13, 2025, we will be upgrading Moodle to version 4.5. Moodle will be unavailable during the upgrade.
The upgraded Moodle will see user interface improvements, course editor upgrades, and easier access to external tools like Panopto and Voicethread. Release notes can be found here.

Unscheduled: Broadcast email system
Update: The issues with the direct email function for authorized users in the Broadcast email system has been resolved as of 11AM on 4/16.
The direct email function is currently not working, and IT is working on fixing this issue. Users can still use emu.edu/broadcast, but this will not support sending from a shared mailbox. Please contact helpdesk@emu.edu if you have any questions. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Unscheduled: Email-to-print outage
Update 3/3/23 10:37AM: Email-to-Print is working again. If you have previously submitted a job that did not go through, you should get your confirmation email today.
Email to print is currently experiencing issues. Emails are being received but are not being passed to Papercut. Please do not resend jobs.
IS is investigating and will provide an update once we know more.

Unscheduled: Broadcast Messaging System
Update 1/24/23 8:00PM – Broadcast messaging functionality has been restored.
Original – Sending broadcast messages from Gmail or another web client is currently not functional and IS is investigating. In the meantime, broadcast messages should be sent from the broadcast messaging web interface (emu.edu/broadcast)
Scheduled Outage: Wireless Connectivty and Network Connectivity
Update: IS found additional problems that could not be resolved with this upgrade, and the upgrade was not successful. IS will be using the new information found in this procedure to continue working toward a solution. All services were restored by 12:45 am on July 8.
On Thursday, July 7, 2022, the servers that provide users with wireless connectivity to the EMU network and access to the broader Internet will be down. Maintenance will begin at 7:00 PM and the upgrade should take no longer than an hour. Wireless connectivity and access to the broader Internet will be affected for most if not all users.

Unscheduled outage affecting Papercut services including printing, copying, and scanning beginning shortly after 3:30PM.
EX FAM module scheduled outage, PowerFAIDS 22.1
For those of you that use the Financial Aid module, there will be an upgrade planned for 1/18/17, Wednesday morning until 10:00am. Any connections to Financial Aid data will not be operational (FAM module, military subtab) while we get PowerFAIDs up to date to version 22.1. You may use any other part of EX during this time.
MyEMU and Jenzabar EX Scheduled Outage
Friday, December 30, 8:00 am to Saturday, December 31, 5:00 pm is a scheduled information systems outage for Student Information Systems (EX) and myEMU. We will be installing a major upgrade. EX and myEMU will be unavailable during this time.
We expect the outage to be for only EX and myEMU. No other systems will be affected by this outage.
If you use EX and your computer is not shut down during the upgrade (i.e. before you leave for the holidays), you will need to restart it after the upgrade for EX to work correctly.
