Scheduled: Software Updates for Webservers

Between 6:30 AM and 7:00 AM on Friday, August 19th we will be performing software updates on our website servers. You may notice intermittent issues accessing moodle.emu.edu, www.emu.edu, and the Broadcast Email system web-interface during this time.

The web-accessible interface of the Broadcast Email system will be unavailable during this outage. However, emails sent into the Broadcast system will continue to be processed normally, but their delivery may be delayed slightly.

ALL network services unavailable Monday, December 28

ALL network services will be unavailable Monday, December 28 from 7:30 AM to 7:30 PM. This includes all wired and wireless network connectivity and any service that relies on it. All EMU websites including but not limited to www.emu.edu, my.emu.edu, and moodle.emu.edu will be unavailable on and off-campus. This is the third of three major outages required to upgrade core network equipment.

At the Lancaster site, wireless and any connectivity to Harrisonburg will be affected, but other services should remain available.

Between 6:30 AM and 6:45 AM on Friday, November 20 we will be performing software updates on two website servers. You may notice intermittent issues accessing www.emu.edu and appsrv2.emu.edu during this time. The following services will be affected:

Scheduled: Website and Database Migrations

Update 9:20am: The migration of the broadcast email system is complete. All systems should be restored.

Update 9:00am: The migration of www.emu.edu has completed. We’re still in the process of migrating databases for the broadcast email system.

On Saturday, September 19th between 8am and 9am we will be migrating the EMU website to a new web-server. During this time you may experience intermittent issues accessing the website.

In addition, several databases that provide services to the EMU website will be migrated to a new server. You may notice slight disruptions of the following services:

  • Broadcast Email system (all emails will be sent, but may be delayed slightly)
  • Limesurvey based surveys, including any Course Evaluation surveys
  • Machform based forms
