Virtual classroom outage reported Friday morning. Fixed Friday around 4pm. But restart of TutorNet caused Apache to go down too.
Power Outage – Ice Storm Related
The entire EMU campus experienced a 35 minute power outage this morning. All systems in the Data Center were supported by UPS and progressed through orderly shut-downs. Telephone switch was taken down manually. All systems restarted without incident. A few non-critical omissions were found in several startup configs. These were corrected.
Planned 3hr Blackboard Outage, 6hrs Reserved
Upgrade of Blackboard server hardware. Outage will most likely last from 6am to 9am. However, if unpredicted problems arise (which we believe is unlikely) additional time will be required. For this reason we have indicated the outage end time to be noon. Current status during the outage will appear on the Critical Information notice visible on the EMU home page.

Email Server down for reconfig. Lasted less than 15 minutes
Power outage in closet due to circuit breaker
While recovering from a power failure a circuit breaker tripped which feeds power to the wiring closet next to ADCP. This affected the entire 2nd and 3rd floor of the campus center due the way the fiber cable runs.
Blackboard memory upgrade attempted
Memory upgrade for Blackboard server — unsuccessful, machine requires different memory than that purchased.

FS Server Crashed
FS crash similar to the crash on 10/03. CPU goes thru the roof and everything locks up. Gradual rise in CPU utilization begins about an hour before crash. Need to be prepared with sniffer next time this occurs

FS crashed at 100 CPU utilization.
Server power off, vrepair and reboot was required
