Due to the failure of a critical server, many services were taken offline unexpectedly. Users may have experienced delays in login times to their computers and and the inability to reach some EMU websites.

Unscheduled: 25Live Service Interruption
CollegeNET is currently experiencing technical issues that could result in slowed or interrupted Series25 services.
Scheduled: myEMU and Jenzabar EX
Saturday, October 28, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM is a scheduled information systems outage for the Student Information Systems (Jenzabar EX) and myEMU. We will be installing a major upgrade. EX and myEMU will be unavailable during this time.
This outage is for only EX and myEMU. No other systems will be affected by this outage.
If you use the EX client, please shut down your computer before you leave for the weekend. If you use EX and your computer is not shut down during the upgrade you may need to restart it after the upgrade for EX to work correctly.

Scheduled: Software Updates for Webservers
Between 6:30 AM and 7:00 AM on Friday, October 20th we will be performing software updates on our website servers. You may notice intermittent issues accessing www.emu.edu, Moodle, and the Broadcast Email system web-interface during this time.
The web-accessible interface of the Broadcast Email system will be unavailable during this outage. However, emails sent into the Broadcast system will continue to be processed normally, but their delivery may be delayed slightly.
Unscheduled: Network Outage, south-east Harrisonburg campus
Early this morning network connectivity was disrupted to the south-east portion[1] of the Harrisonburg campus by a power failure in the Hartzler Library.
If you encounter problems accessing network drives or logging in, please restart your computer. If you continue to have problems after restarting, please contact the helpdesk: helpdesk@emu.edu or 540 432 4357 (x4357 on the Harrisonburg campus).
There is a small chance that electrical repair work in the library may cause further disruption today. Facilities and IS are working to prevent that.

Unscheduled: Moodle Unavailable
For approximately 10 to 15 minutes around 1:00pm this afternoon Moodle was unavailable. The cause of the outage was quickly determined to be due to document conversion software that handles conversion of assignment submissions to PDF for purposes of annotation/grading. The PDF conversion and annotation features have been disabled indefinitely until the issues caused by the document conversion software can be resolved.

Unscheduled: SIS outage
An SIS server failed to reboot successfully after routine OS updates. All systems are now functioning.
