Intermittent internet connection outages Saturday
This Saturday, June 27 beginning at 9:00 AM, Information Systems will be making configuration changes to our network to accommodate a second internet service provider. This will result in multiple intermittent interruptions in both the ability of on-campus users to access the internet (perhaps most importantly Google), as well as off-campus users’ ability to access services provided by EMU, such as Moodle and myEMU. While we expect work to be completed by 1:00 PM, it may take some internet sites longer to re-establish communication with EMU so you may notice inconsistencies until later in the day. We expect these will be few, if any.
Services that do not require internet access for on-campus users including, but not limited to, file access, printing, myEMU, and Moodle will remain available for on-campus users.
EX FAM module outage, PowerFAIDS 20.3
For those of you that use the Financial Aid module, there will be an upgrade planned for 5/21/15, Thursday morning until 10:00am.Any connections to Financial Aid data will not be operational (FAM module, military subtab) while we get PowerFAIDs up to date to version 20.3.
5/21 10:30 status: various EX connections needed to be terminated to complete the upgrade. Processes have changed and next time should be smoother.
Harrisonburg voicemail system problems
Last night, apparently due to lightning, we lost some functionality of our voicemail system. We have taken the system offline to run tests and try to restore full functionality.
Within an hour, we will send another update on the status of the system and what, if any, actions you may need to take.
myEMU outage
Fixing a problem with the EX scheduler service knocked myEMU off-line. This was not noticed until later in the afternoon, while IS was in a team retreat.
Both problems have been fixed.
myEMU and EX upgrade
Saturday, May 9, 8:00 am to Sunday, May 10, 5:00 pm is a scheduled information systems outage for Student Information Systems (EX) and myEMU. We will be installing a major upgrade. EX and myEMU will be unavailable during this time.
We expect the outage to be for only EX and myEMU. No other systems will be affected.
Moodle will remain available at moodle.emu.edu .
If you use EX on a PC and have not shut it down for the weekend, you will need to reboot it after the update, before you first use EX next week.
If you have questions or concerns please contact the Information Systems Helpdesk: helpdesk@emu.edu or 540.432.4357 (x4357 on the Harrisonburg campus).
EX FAM module outage, PowerFAIDS 20.2
For those of you that use the Financial Aid module, there will be an upgrade planned for 4/8/15, Wednesday morning until 10:00am. Please stay out of the FAM module while we get PowerFAIDs up to date to version 20.2.
You may use any other part of EX during this time.
MyEMU performance problems
Transient problems with server software caused slowness when accessing myEMU. These problems were corrected after they were discovered this morning.
