In preparation for our replacement VoiceMail system it is necessary to make some routing configuration changes to the NEC phone switch. During the time of this configuration internal calls related to 4xxx extensions will be unavailable.

Scheduled server upgrade
Access to the internet and internal network services, wireless access in particular, will be interrupted early Wednesday morning as servers providing core network services including IP address assignment, name resolution, and wireless authentication will be upgraded.

There is an unscheduled printing outage. Network technicians are working on the issue.

Update, 5:00pm:All services are restored.
Update, 2:00pm:Problems continue and technicians are pursuing several mitigations. We have extended the outage until 5:00pm. While most critical services remain functional we expect occasional interruptions of service to continue.
Update, noon: Problems have occurred with the upgrade. At this time we do not know how long it will take to resolve them. While most critical services remain functional we expect occasional interruptions of service to continue.
Between 7:00 AM and 12:00 PM Information Systems will be replacing a core component of the network. All network services–including but not limited to, internet access, printing, myEMU, Moodle, and SIS–will be interrupted for brief intervals as connections are transferred to the new equipment. This will affect services in Harrisonburg, Lancaster, and off-campus. We recommend against using the network or network services during this time, but if you do, please be prepared for service interruptions.

myEMU and EX upgrade
Saturday, August 8, 8:00 am to Sunday, Aug 9, 5:00 pm is a scheduled information systems outage for Student Information Systems (EX) and myEMU. We will be installing a major upgrade. EX and myEMU will be unavailable during this time.
We expect the outage to be for only EX and myEMU. No other systems will be affected.
Moodle will remain available at moodle.emu.edu .
If you use EX on a PC and have not shut it down for the weekend, you will need to reboot it after the update, before you first use EX next week.

Scheduled: 25Live Upgrade to v25
From Tuesday, August 4, 9:00 pm to Wednesday, August 5 1:00 am (four hours total), CollegeNet will be upgrading our 25Live scheduling system to version 25.
this upgrade will fix a couple issues that users have encountered:
- It will prevent users from making one very long event rather than recurring events.
- It will give us the ability to customize reports.
25Live will be unavailable during the upgrade. No other systems will be affected.
